Lexington Achievement Foundation
“A community Achieves most when it’s built on a solid foundation”
Our mission is to boldly invest in youth in the Central Kentucky community through three pillars of achievement: Education, Leadership, and Service. Together, we can build up underserved communities through our commitment to help serve, lead, and Achieve. Through all of our efforts, we’ve been able to provide over $15,000 in donations and scholarships to support the Lexington Area Community.
Community Initiatives Include:
St. Jude Children’s Hospital
FCPS Family Resource Coordinators Grocery Deliveries
Salvation Army Thanksgiving Day Meal Deliveries
Annual Coat Drive
Angel Tree (Christmas Gifts for underprivileged FCPS scholars)
Holiday Bike Drive
Homeless Outreach
1911 Scholarship
Through the 1911 Scholarship program, we have been able to provide over $8,000 in scholarships to worthy youth. Students who meet specific requirements (e.g. 3.0 GPA, community involvement) apply and are awarded scholarships at the bi-annual Black Men Working (BMW) Beautillion. Our goal is to increase 1911 Scholarship contributions through corporate sponsorships and individual donations through the Lexington Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi’s annual golf scramble. This will allow the Lexington Achievement Foundation to provide even greater support to young men of color who have the ambition to achieve academically, but may not have the financial resources. We recognize that the success and growth of the 1911 Scholarship program cannot be achieved without the contributions of caring organizations and individuals. The gift of rewarding deserving young scholars with the opportunity to better themselves through higher education is an experience like no other.
